Fireworks in night sky

There's no place like St. Louis on the Fourth of July. From downtown fireworks to neighborhood festivals, drone shows to sing-alongs, this region goes all in for Independence Day. And this year carries extra weight as America turns 250. Whether you're heading out with kids, a partner, or a full crew of friends, here's everything happening across the region so you can plan the perfect holiday weekend.

New to the area or thinking about making St. Louis home? Consider this your first taste of why people who move here tend to stay.

🎆 Kirkwood Freedom Festival: Right in Our Backyard

July 4 | Kirkwood

We'll start local, because this one's special. The Freedom Festival in Kirkwood is exactly what a neighborhood Fourth of July should feel like: food truck treats, live music that actually gets you moving, and a fireworks display to cap off the night. It's community-scale in the best way. Familiar faces, no massive crowds, and a genuine sense of place. This is the kind of event that makes Kirkwood residents proud to live here.

🎇 Celebrate Saint Louis: The Big Downtown Moment

July 3 & 4 | Downtown St. Louis

Concerts, food, and fireworks in the heart of the city. Celebrate St. Louis is the flagship Fourth of July event for the region and the centerpiece of America's 250th birthday celebrations in St. Louis. If you want scale, energy, and a fireworks display that stops traffic, this is it. Plan your transportation ahead of time. MetroLink is your best friend on nights like this.

🎡 Heritage & Freedom Fest

July 3 & 4 | O'Fallon, Missouri

One of the most well-rounded festivals in the region. The Heritage & Freedom Fest brings a full carnival (rides, games, corn dogs, funnel cakes, and all the rest), free concerts from national recording artists, one of the largest parades in the St. Louis area, and a big fireworks finale. Perfect for families who want a full day out without driving downtown.

⛵ St. Charles Riverfest

July 3 & 4 | St. Charles, Missouri

St. Charles is one of the most charming spots in the metro, and its riverfront setting makes it an ideal place to spend the holiday. Riverfest delivers two full days of live music, food, cold drinks, carnival rides, kids' activities, and fireworks over the water. If you haven't spent time in St. Charles, this is a great excuse to explore it.

🦅 Summer Nights at Grant's Farm: Drone Show Edition

July 3–5 | Grant's Farm

Here's the twist on the traditional fireworks show: Grant's Farm is trading pyrotechnics for a full drone show this Fourth of July weekend as part of its 2026 Summer Nights series. After a tram ride through Deer Park, enjoy live music starting at 6 p.m., complimentary Anheuser-Busch beers for guests 21+, and a spectacular drone light show at 9 p.m. A genuinely cool alternative for anyone who wants something different this year.

⚾ Gateway Grizzlies vs. Québec Capitales

July 3–5 | Sauget, Illinois

Baseball. Hot dogs. Cold beer. Fireworks after the game. The Gateway Grizzlies host the Québec Capitales over the full holiday weekend, and there's an argument to be made that a minor league ballpark on the Fourth of July is one of the most American experiences money can buy. Highly recommended.

🎭 Rise Up: A Sing-Along Tribute to Hamilton

July 4 | St. Louis

For something completely different and genuinely electric, Rise Up is an immersive, audience-participation tribute to Hamilton, celebrating 250 years of American independence. The full iconic score, the audience singing along, the whole room feeling it together. Don't throw away your shot.

🎬 SLAM Cinema: 1776

July 3 | Saint Louis Art Museum, Forest Park

The Saint Louis Art Museum screens the classic historical musical 1776 on July 3 in the Farrell Auditorium. Based on the Broadway musical, it follows the events leading up to the signing of the Declaration of Independence, with portions of dialogue pulled directly from actual letters and memoirs of the Founders. A thoughtful, fitting way to spend the eve of the Fourth.

🐾 Webster Groves Community Days

July 2 & 4 | Webster Groves

Webster Groves kicks things off early with a children's pet parade on July 2. Dogs, cats, pigs, chickens, iguanas, horses, you name it (pre-registration available online). Then on July 4, a community parade steps off at Lockwood and Mason avenues at 10 a.m., followed by fireworks at Memorial Park at 9:15 p.m. Pure neighborhood energy.

🎢 Star-Spangled Nights at Six Flags

July 2 & 3 | Eureka

Six Flags St. Louis pairs its full lineup of thrills with a fireworks display synchronized to a patriotic soundtrack on July 2 and 3. A solid full-day option for families with kids who want more than a lawn chair and a sparkler.

🎸 Eureka Independence Day Celebration

July 4 | Eureka

The Eureka Parks and Recreation Department celebrates America's 250th with a live show by Steven Woolley and the Groove from 6 to 10 p.m., local food vendors, and fireworks at 9:30 p.m. A laid-back, community-driven evening worth knowing about if you're on that side of the metro.

🥃 America250 Bourbon Release at StilL 630

July 3 | St. Louis

For the adults looking for something to mark the occasion: StilL 630, the fourth most awarded distillery in the country, is releasing a commemorative single-barrel bourbon on July 3 as part of its yearlong America250 series. Aged five-plus years in Missouri oak, made from Missouri-grown grain. A distinctly local way to toast 250 years.

Why the Fourth Is Better When You Live Here

The events above aren't just a weekend itinerary. They're a snapshot of what it's like to live in this region. St. Louis gives you world-class experiences and neighborhoods that actually feel like neighborhoods. Kirkwood, in particular, sits at the center of that balance: 20 minutes from downtown fireworks, walkable to your own community festival, and surrounded by some of the most livable streets in Missouri.

At The Collective, we work here because we believe in this community. If you're curious about what it looks like to put down roots in Kirkwood or the surrounding area, we'd love to talk.
